AI & Data Use Disclosure
Effective Date: June 18, 2026
Last Updated: June 18, 2026
SonifyMusic uses artificial intelligence to power core features. To provide them, some of your data is sent to third-party AI providers for processing. This document explains who receives your data, what is sent, and why — and we ask for your explicit permission before any of it is shared.
You can decline. Because these features are central to SonifyMusic, declining means the AI-powered parts of the app won’t be available. You can withdraw your permission at any time in Settings → Privacy → AI & Data Use.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with these providers for advertising.
Who we share with, and why
Google (Gemini API)
- What is sent: Your AVA chat messages and any attachments you include; and the prompts we generate from your uploaded tracks during analysis.
- Why: To generate AVA’s responses and to analyze and score your music.
- How Google handles it: On Google’s paid Gemini API service, Google does not use your prompts or responses to train or improve its models, and retains them only briefly to detect and prevent misuse.
Deepgram
- What is sent: Your voice audio, when you use voice features.
- Why: To convert your speech to text so AVA can understand and respond.
- How Deepgram handles it: Deepgram does not train on your audio by default, and keeps it only for as long as needed to process your request.
Cyanite
- What is sent: The audio you upload for analysis.
- Why: To analyze your music’s characteristics (genre, mood, similarity) as part of your Soundscore.
- How Cyanite handles it: Cyanite is an EU-based (German) provider and processes your audio under GDPR to produce the analysis; you retain ownership of your audio. Cyanite may also create anonymized, aggregated data — combined across many users and no longer identifying you or your audio — to operate and improve its service. Your uploaded audio is deleted when your account is closed.
Withdrawing your permission
You can withdraw at any time in Settings → Privacy → AI & Data Use. After you withdraw, AI features stop and no further data is sent to these providers.
Changes to this disclosure
If we add, remove, or change a provider — or change what data is sent or why — we will update this disclosure and ask for your permission again.
